From the brand
The average cost to replace an intake manifold gasket on the 2001 Ford F-150 is around $290 to $360 for labor and $45 to $50 for parts. These prices can vary due to location plus the cost of taxes, other fees, and possible related repairs. If Your gasket is beginning to wear down You may experience reduced mileage, leaking of either oil or coolant, poor engine performance, engine stalling, and an illuminated Check Engine light. Typically a gasket will last for the full life of the car. Should You need to have Yours replaced it's ideal to have it done as soon as possible to avoid any further wear and tear on the engine.

2001 F150 5.4l - Intake Manifold Replacement Experiences Please...
I have a 2001 ford f150 5.4l engine -
I would like to get personal experiences from those who have used the "Dorman" aftermarket replacement intake manifold for their 5.4l - 2 valve engine.
Do they last?
Do they start leaking soon after replacement?
Would it be best to just replace it with a "OEM Ford" intake manifold?
I want to get the best part available that has a history of lasting the longest.
Thank You

I put the Dorman on my wifes truck about 40K and 2.5 years ago and have had no issues with it. It currently has 302K. Hope this helps.

I just did this job on my Expedition. If I had to do it all over I absolutely would purchase the proper Motorcraft unit from Amazon, its only $60 more and you get actual metal threads for all your bolts, the dorman or others use self tapping screws and that's a big issue over the long term. Also, the PCV connection is different and they ofter leak, its recommended to epoxy it in if you do decide to go aftermarket. With the aftermarket unit you can't find new gaskets since they are part of the manifold.
If you get the motorcraft unit you need to buy gaskets separately and a new thermostat and o ring.
Goodluck
This youtube video does a great job detailing it and has the link to the amazon link for the discounted Intake:

The Dorman manifolds marked Made in USA are OEM manifolds, take note of the Ford engineering number that is ground off of the manifold runner and the crossover. There is newer ones from PRC which are not and you can see the plastic is the wrong material, its a much lower quality glass reinforced resin and overly glossy. The last two from Amazon I ordered were re-boxed genuine parts. Check the warehouse deals as the open box were 106.00.

I thought I might have had a leak but after cleaning the engine bay a little with a rag, I found No Leaking.
This is what I found on the Intake Manifold (see attached)
Looks like the repair shop used the correct Dorman manifold?
Dorman brand intake manifold 1
Dorman 2
