Best black friday tv deals 55 inch

FAQ

Which TV brand is best value for money?

If you can’t afford to spend thousands of dollars on a new TV, TCL and Hisense offer high quality at affordable prices. The Hisense U8H LED TV, for example, offers flagship-level performance and an impressive array of features for a modest price. And the TCL 4K 6-Series with Google TV offers more features and better performance than the Roku-based 6-Series, and all you're giving up is Apple AirPlay.

What is a good month to buy a TV?

In the US, retailers will often offer deals ahead of the Super Bowl, so keep your eyes peeled in January and February if you didn’t snag a discount on Black Friday, another popular time to get a discount on a huge TV. If you want the best TV versus a discounted one, the spring is often when new TV models arrive in stores.

Cyber Monday offers a great opportunity to get the 4K TV of your dreams at a lower-than-usual price. The shopping day caps off what has been an amazing year for grabbing a fantastic TV for far less than its listing price. While some of our picks are sold out online, you might get lucky with availability at your local Best Buy.

Whether you want a low-frills pick that includes Roku, Fire TV, or Google TV streaming software, or one that delivers heaps of features on top of top-tier picture quality, there’s something for you in the deals we’ve found from brands like TCL, Insignia, and LG.

55-inch Toshiba C350 Fire TV

If you want the most TV for your buck, Toshiba’s 50-inch C350 Fire TV with Amazon’s streaming guts built-in is $239.99 through Best Buy’s Amazon storefront. It won’t deliver comparable contrast and brightness that you’ll find in pricier models, but it might bring everything you want. This 2021 model has slim bezels, and its panel has Dolby Vision and HDR10 support for more cinematic and lifelike picture quality. Plus, it has a convenient Alexa-based remote that you can bark voice commands into.

$240

An affordable, 4K LED TV with built-in Fire TV tech. This model sticks out from the bunch of other Fire TV Edition models with support for Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10.

55-inch or 65-inch TCL 5-Series S546

The next recommendation keeps going in and out of stock at Best Buy, but it’s worth keeping an eye on during Black Friday. TCL’s 55-inch 5-Series S546 is just $200 at Best Buy— no wonder it’s selling out. You’ll need to check availability in your area, and hope you get lucky.

Even without that huge price cut, Best Buy’s $499 price for the 65-inch version is still pretty great. This 4K TV also sports a QLED panel like the Insignia above, but it stands out with Google TV software and support for HDR10 Plus and Dolby Vision HDR standards. It has a 60Hz panel, so while it’s great for movies and TV shows, it won’t deliver fast refresh rates to unlock the graphical potential of a PS5 or Xbox Series X (if that matters to you).

$500

TCL’s 5-Series S546 sports a brilliant QLED panel, supports a variable refresh rate, and uses the Google TV platform. It’s also equipped with support for Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, and HDR10 Plus, much like the latest 6-Series.

55-inch TCL 6-Series Google TV

Next up is the trusty 55-inch TCL 6-Series TV, which is still in stock online as of publication. It’s tough to get more for your money, since it costs just $599.99 at Best Buy, a savings of $100. It has many key traits that gamers seek out in a TV, namely HDMI 2.1 ports that can deliver 4K resolution at up to 120Hz, and a Mini LED panel that makes games — and everything else — look better than your average QLED or LED TV. Read our review.

$600

The 2022 R646 is the latest model in TCL’s 6-Series line. The TV features 4K HDR and Mini LED backlighting, along with support for HDR10 Plus and 4K gaming at 120Hz. More importantly, it runs on Google TV software, unlike the last-gen model.

55-inch LG C2

Since I mentioned it a few times already, I might as well tell you about the great prices that LG’s best-in-class 55-inch C2 OLED has been selling for. It’s down to around $1,300 at multiple retailers including Target and Best Buy, and the price goes down slightly if you go smaller. LG makes this TV in 48-inch and 42-inch variants (as well as bigger, pricier ones), going all the way down to about $900 at the smallest. My colleague Chris Welch reviewed the C2, and you can check out his thoughts right here.

$1300

The LG C2 is both lighter and brighter than its last-gen predecessor, the C1. It also boasts a “dark room” setting to reduce eyestrain, as well as the ability to log into different user profiles.

$998

The newest model of Samsung’s aesthetically pleasing TV retains the same vivid QLED display as its predecessor but uses a new anti-glare, low-reflection coating dubbed “Matte Display,” which provides images with qualities that resemble actual canvas.

  • Samsung’s new The Frame TV is on sale in the 55-inch configuration for around $998 ($500 off) at Amazon and Best Buy. The 4K TV displays artwork when not in use and features a new anti-glare, low-reflection coating. When turned on, however, the excellent QLED offers a fast 120Hz refresh rate and support for a number of streaming apps.
  • Amazon’s new Fire TV Omni QLED Omni lineup is also on sale. You can buy, for instance, the 65-inch model for $549.99 from Best Buy instead of $799.99. The new TV is capable of displaying similar artwork when not in use and supports Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10 Plus Adaptive alongside two-way video calling.
