Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheater is an outdoor, live entertainment venue in Charlotte, North Carolina. The amphitheater offers guests a beautiful setting to enjoy their concert experience with skyline views and premium seating options.
Formerly known as the Uptown Theater, Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheater provides traditional and elevated lawn seating, as well as premium box seats including a food and beverage service. The VIP area is located indoors and features private restroom, bar and a view of the stage that can’t be beat.
Concession area features a “Bourbon Street” feel with multiple permanent restrooms and private stalls. Outside food or beverages and umbrellas are not permitted. No professional photography or video/audio recording is allowed without approval from the venue. Small personal cameras are permitted.

The only chairs they allow are the low beach chair type, so you'll be fine with a blanket. It's nice to have something to sit on between acts or when the show gets to the slower songs, and to kinda mark out your spot on the lawn even when you are standing.
As others have said ymmv depending on crowd size, but most of the time it's not bad, and a blanket is nice to have along with an emergency poncho for everybody with you depending on our drunken weather forecast for the night.
