Dogfish Head Description

Just when we thought World Wide Stout couldn’t get any better…

Our brewers decided to take a Dogfish Head legend and age it on charred oak bourbon barrels acquired directly from Heaven Hill Distillery – still wet with spirits when they arrived at the brewery!

Rare and often rumored about in the darkest corners of the beer community, this variety of World Wide Stout is dark, rich, roasty and complex, balancing notes of coffee and licorice with the carmely, smooth finish of bourbon.

Clocking in at 15-18% ABV, Bourbon Barrel-Aged World Wide Stout is an excellent candidate for cellaring, so grab a few bottle to enjoy now and lay the others down for a few years. You’ll be happy you did … trust us.

UPDATED: FEB 15, 2022 Pours black with a tiny beige head & little lacing. The aroma is robust with bourbon & booze. The flavor is similar to the utopias version with some sherry, brandy thing going on upfront but making it more of a sipper. Bold & powerful nevertheless & overall a wonderful brew.

UPDATED: APR 11, 2021 12 oz. bottle from Root Cellar. Pours a deep, dark, basically opaque brown with a small tan head that settles into a ring and island of film. Notes of oak, bourbon, roasted malts, dark chocolate, burnt brown sugar, vanilla, fudge, coffee, tobacco, and caramel. Medium-full bodied, with modest carbonation and a warming, roasty, semi-sweet mouthfeel. Very well executed. I like it.

BenDover (400) - League City, Texas, USA - JUL 31, 2020

UPDATED: JUL 31, 2020 Pours a dark brown, almost black. Thin amount of light brown foam that dissipates quickly. Aroma of bourbon, molasses, and roasted malt. Taste is initially masked by a huge up-front alcohol burn, which gives way to a nice burnt-sugar kind of taste, with some bittersweet chocolate and vanilla. This is great stuff.

What is the alcohol content of Dogfish Head World Wide Stout?
