Eye doctors that make house calls
We are one of the few offices in Pennsylvania and New Jersey that provides medical eye care to individuals that are home bound.  Our providers visit all parts of Bucks, Montgomery, Philadelphia, Chester and Delaware Counties.  They also travel to most areas in Central and Southern New Jersey.  Due to our thoroughness and dedication to our patients, DaVinci Eye Care has become a leading referral source for family doctors that also make house calls.

Our primary concern is always the health of our patients’ eyes, as well as their overall well-being.  During a house call, we will perform a complete medical history, check your vision, and use state of the art equipment to check the health in the front and the back of the eye.  We also use drops to check the pressure of your eyes for glaucoma and dilate them to check for diabetes, macular degeneration and other eye diseases.

We have also added the capability to perform visual field testing and electroretinography in the home, in order to better take care of our patients.

We provide a wide selection of glasses for you to choose from, if needed.  Please contact us if you have any questions about the cost of glasses and your insurance coverage.

What do you call a doctor who comes to your house?

A house call is medical consultation performed by a doctor or other healthcare professionals visiting the home of a patient or client, instead of the patient visiting the doctor's clinic or hospital.

Why do doctors not make house calls in America?

We think the reason doctors rarely make house calls is money. Doctors can charge, but it is hard to charge enough to justify the time it takes to drive door-to-door, fill the tank and attend lengthy visits. Thus, the house call has faded into history.

This is one of the reasons why house call doctors still exist in certain parts of the country. While there aren't as many house call doctors working today, studies have shown that the number of house calls that take place are increasing.
