  1. Great american cookie company chocolate chip cookie recipe

I added one teaspoon vanilla extract. Made sure eggs weren’t cold. Made sure not to over stir mixture. Added 2 extra tbs. Of cocoa, Reese’s peanut butter chips, Hershey’s semi sweet chips, and walnuts. On the chips a cup each. Baked for 13 minutes for a little more crispier cookie. Turned out great! Best cookies I’ve made so far!

  2. Great american cookie company chocolate chip cookie recipe

So far this is the best cookie recipe I have found. If you bake at 9 minutes came out really soft. I wanted a little more crisper of a cookie. So the 2nd half I put in for 13 minutes. Also, I added some peanut butter, semi sweet chocolate chips, and walnuts. My boyfriend loved them. He even took some to work for one of his coworkers and they said wow! You’re girlfriend really knows how to bake! ;) Yay! Thank you

Do these cookies have a dry texture to them once they have cooled? Are they chewy?

Description

Did you love mall cookies growing up? I did. Always had to have one. Recently, the mall cookie giant Great American Cookie Co. disappeared from my local malls and I’ve been missing their cookies, so I tinkered with a few recipes to make an imitation that’s pretty close to the taste of the original! A chewy, caramel-y chocolate chip cookie that melts in your mouth!

Ingredients

  • 2-¼ cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Butter, Softened (2 Sticks)
  • ¾ cups Granulated Sugar
  • ¾ cups Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 3 cups Mix-ins Of Your Choice (Chocolate Chips, PB Chips, Nuts, M&Ms, etc.)

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Mix flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl with a whisk.
3. Mix butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in a mixer bowl until creamy.
4. Add eggs and mix.
5. Gradually stir in flour mixture.
6. Add 3 cups mix-ins; stir with a wooden spoon to combine.
7. Drop batter by tablespoonfuls, two inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
8. Bake for 9-10 minutes or until golden. Cool on wire racks.

Who Makes Great American cookies?

Great American Cookie Co. was founded by future CEO Michael J. Coles and partner Arthur Karp, who each invested $4,000 to develop a business selling cookies on the strength of a family recipe passed on to Karp's wife. That same year the first store opened in Atlanta's Perimeter Mall.
Butter contributes milk solids and water to a cookie, both of which soften it. Brown sugar contributes molasses – again, a softener. Using lower-moisture sugar (granulated) and fat (vegetable shortening), plus a longer, slower bake than normal, produces light, crunchy cookies.

What makes cookies moist and chewy?

Double Your Yolks Most cookie recipes call for at least one egg. You can try omitting the white of each egg, which tends to dry out when baked, and replacing it with an additional yolk Plus, egg yolks have more fat than egg whites, which helps to keep your cookies moist and chewy.
