Arrived around 9pm. Hotel was booked solid for entire weekend. Had a reservation for three people, but hotel only had a room for two people. Thank goodness we were able to have our son stay with relatives, albeit one hour away. VERY stressful and inconvenient! Next, the billing information was wrong. Fortunately, we had printouts of our reservations, but it took 10 minutes to resolve. Next issue was being charged a $200 security deposit for the room. I have stayed at hotels all over the world (Hiltons included) for 50 years (since I was 18) and have NEVER been charged a security deposit! If that is hotel policy, fine, but what was really upsetting was when we were told the deposit (after deductions for incidentals) would be refunded in four to five business days! REALLY?!? Why wouldn't it happen after housekeeping cleaned the room and reported nothing missing and nothing damaged? BAD BUSINESS POLICY! In addition, we were NEVER informed of the security deposit until check in. I also DID NOT like being charged $10 for breakfast, despite being a Hilton Honors Member, because we booked the reservation through a 3rd party (never happened on previous bookings). Finally, despite being booked solid, there was only ONE guy on desk duty and he was doing his absolute best, but check in was about 30 minutes with a line guests in front and behind us. I fault hotel management for causing this condition by NOT planning ahead for the OBVIOUS! Only ONE elevator in the hotel caused considerable waits to get up and down. Not sure what the hotel would do if that one elevator broke down. Hilton is to blame for INADEQUATE hotel design. Otherwise, the hotel employees, despite the crush, were VERY pleasant and accommodating.

Spacious guest rooms complimented by friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. All rooms have microwave, refrigerator, AM/FM alarm clock, Keurig coffee maker, hairdryer, iron and board. The hotel offers complimentary high speed wireless internet service, complimentary 24-hourbusiness center, restaurant, evening room service, bar, guest laundry, indoor pool, exercise room. Beneath the shadows of Pikes Peak, our meeting/banquet facilities offer picturesque views. The hotel offers two 600 sq. ft. meeting rooms that can be opened to one 1200 sq. ft. banquet room. The Aspen room is a 600 sq. ft. boardroom that comfortably seats 15 people in Herman Miller ergonomic chairs. The hotel is centrally located at exit 151, off I-25, adjacent to the Air Force Academy, across the street from the Shops at Briargate and only minutes from area attractions such as Garden of the Gods and Focus on the Family.
