Hey Beauties,

I’ve always been a little iffy about trying beauty products that contain honey, mainly because I’ve been seeing a lot of beehives being burned in the news.

I’m a huge supporter of beekeepers and trying to save the bee population since a single bee colony can pollinate 300 million flowers each day.

Due to pesticides, droughts, habitat destruction, pollution, and more issues going on with the world, bees die. Not only are there a lot of these human causes, but there’s the more natural winter losses in the population of bees.

While I won’t go on about what can help to save the bees or my feelings about people going around and burning down bee colonies, I will go on about HoneyLab.

HoneyLab is an amazing skincare company that raises ethically and humanely treated bees. They’re founded in Chicago and the products use rich nectar from more medicinal flowers. The nectar then gets turned into nutrient dense honey, propolis, and beeswax.

The skincare blend started in New Zealand with their 300+ MGO Manuka Honey. It helps to reduce the look of blemishes and soothe redness in your skin.

Propolis is the glue that keeps the hive together and protects it from outside elements, keeping the hive and honey sterile. It calms reactive skin and promotes healthy renewal of skin cells while also having profound antibacterial properties.

To help improve the look of uneven skin tones and to lock in moisture so that the skin can feel soft, HoneyLab ethically harvests beeswax.

They don’t end there. They also have pure honey which is a soothing tonic that helps support the collagen in skin. This keeps skin looking youthful and plump.

Finally, to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, HoneyLab includes royal jelly. It helps to improve the texture of skin and shows visible firmness after application.

I hadn’t heard of HoneyLab before I tried them, but since they were selling for about $4.99 at T.J. Maxx, I thought I’d give it a try since I love the effects that Manuka Doctor has on my skin.

When I got home, I looked up the retail prices of the products and was shocked to see that their products started at $25 dollars and went upwards to $40 dollars.

So far, on their website (Honeylab.com), they have four products. They carry the 5-in-1 Dry Skin Rescue Intense Moisture Lotion, Dry Skin Rescue Intense Moisturizer, 5-in-1 Skin Rescue Face Serum, and Miracle Moisture Transforming Face Mask.

After doing a little bit of research, since the products seemed to be really pricey, I found them on Amazon for much cheaper.

I tried out all four of the products since I was able to find them at a very affordable $4.99 each, and I can’t help but want to buy them at their full retail price in case I don’t find more. The 5-in-1 Skin Rescue Face Serum retails at $40, but it’s well worth the money since you can truly feel the hydration and tightening effects of the serum.

I also loved the Dry Skin Rescue Intense Moisturizer. It was an amazing balm that felt even better than The Body Shop on my skin.

I’ve only gotten to use the Miracle Moisture Transforming Face Mask about twice now, but I’ve absolutely felt the effects on my skin. I’ve been so tired recently, but my skin looks like I could take the gold if napping was an event in the Olympics.

Out of all of their products, I probably wouldn’t buy the 5-in-1 Dry Skin Rescue Intense Moisture Lotion, but it definitely saw the effects that it had, especially since there was amazing shea butter, argan oil, and vitamin e.

Have you tried other products that are ethically made that you’d like me to try? Let me know in the comments!

XOXO

What is a honey lab?

A honey oil lab, also known as a hash oil lab, produces a form of purified marijuana that is extracted from the plants. The finished product is used in vape pens and marijuana edibles. Authorities say the butane used to make the oil is highly flammable and volatile, and these labs can easily explode.
