Did you know that you can check every single app you've ever downloaded on your Android smartphone via the Google Play Store? Yes, you can.

The good thing is, you can also delete and remove some of the apps from your download history. In this article, we'll show you how to delete apps from your Google Play Store library.

How to Delete Your Google Play Store App Download History

Once you download an app from Google Play, the app store will add it to your library.

This makes it convenient to re-download apps when you buy a new device or even after factory resetting your phone. But at times, you don't want to keep some of those apps in your history as you no longer plan to use them in the future—and the list can get pretty long after a while.

Follow these steps to delete your Google Play Store app download history from your Android smartphone:

  1. Launch the Play Store app and tap on your account icon in the top right corner.
  2. Select Manage apps and device from the menu.
  3. Tap the Manage tab. You'll now see all the apps that are currently on your device.
  4. Tap the Installed toggle and select Not installed from the pop-up. This shows all the apps you've previously installed but no longer use.
  5. Tap the checkbox next to an app you want to remove from the list. You can select as many as you want.
  6. Once done, tap the delete icon in the top right.
  7. Select Remove from the pop-up to finish.

FAQs

Does Play Store history delete itself?

Play Store history does not delete itself. By default, Google will continue to keep the web activity and data you produce from using its services. If you want it to automatically delete this data, you have to activate auto delete for your Google account.

Deleting Play Store History – Wrapping Up

What’d you think of this article?

While many people don’t consider their Play Store history as much as their browsing history, your Play Store history can reveal a lot about the apps that you’re interested in. This data can also take up a lot of space on your Android phone, especially if you don’t clear the data often.

When you clear local search history for Google Play on your Android device, it frees up space and speeds up the app. This makes using it in the future that much easier.

As mentioned before, the Google Play store app offers both free and paid apps for download.

Some premium apps require one-time payments, while others have subscriptions that need you to renew every month, every 6 months, or every year.

If you’ve got one of those apps and want to cancel the auto-renewal, here’s how to cancel a Play Store auto-renewal subscription. Canceling auto-renewal for a subscription is reversible and you can renew your subscription at any time.
