Shelby's Super Snake Mustang puts down a totally sane 825 hp
Just 30 Super Snakes of this type will be built, so if you want to jump on one of these totally reasonable rides, act fast
Photo by ShelbyIn case the admittedly workaday Mustang GT350 or GT500 (with 526 and 760 horsepower, respectively) aren’t enough excitement for your Blue Oval heart, you’ll be pleased to know Shelby is building a Super Snake with upwards of 825 ponies, a totally reasonable number.

Future Barrett-Jackson attendees will be interested to learn Shelby is assembling but 30 of the things in three retro colour schemes.
Standard equipment under the Snake’s bulging hood is a supercharged mill making 710 horsepower. Siphoning a few more simoleons from your bank account is the 825-horsepower option you really want.
Shelby also goes ahead and installs performance half shafts, six-piston Brembos cooled by ducting, and ‘performance-spec’ tires of unknown vintage.

An optional Shelby caster camber kit is said to provide the correct amount of caster and wheel camber, making one wonder why that’s not included in the first place.
Price? If you have to ask…
Actually, bringing a cheque and a titled 2018 to 2020 Mustang GT will net you the 710-hp Super Snake. Alternatively, customers can forego a conversion and simply plunk $123,295 at the feet of Shelby itself for a complete unit. Since speed costs money, the higher output version will require more cheddar.
Note well: the production number of thirty seems to apply to 2020-model-year examples painted in these bold retro colours — Shadow Black with green stripes, Green Lime with black stripes and Twister Orange with black stripes.
Speaking of Barrett-Jackson, the first 2020 Shelby Super Snake will cross the block at the company’s Scottsdale auction in January. Your author will be on the ground in Arizona and promises to egg on potential buyers.
