How do I set a custom ringtone on my Samsung?

That's not good as it should just change to the one you want.

Try a soft reboot by turning the phone Off and On.

Does this happen when you try to change ringtones in all of your notifications such as mail and email and incoming calls etc ?

What happens when you go into your sound settings to change ringtone ? i.e does it change and then revert to another or just refuses to choose another stock ringtone.

Perhaps try another route to change your ringtone.

Settings > Apps > Mail > Notifications > General Notifications > Sound > Media (I choose just once as I have zedge installed) > Choose tone.

Try going into Safe Mode which disable the apps you've downloaded and leaves the stock ones working and then try to change ringtone.

If it let's you then an app or launcher you've got is somehow hindering the settings.

Come out of Safe Mode and start deleting your most recent apps one at a time until the situation remedies.

If it continues in Safe Mode then if this was my phone I would perform the following.

1st Turn the phone Off and then from a set series of button presses that takes you into the phones system files clear the cache. This does not delete your saved info.

No remedy !

2nd as a very last resort back up and factory reset. Remove any Sd Card.

No remedy !

3rd Visit a Samsung Service Centre or Samsung Experience Store.

Part 1. Customize Samsung Galaxy S9 Ringtones

Step 1:On the start-up interface of Syncios Toolkit, please choose Mobile Manager to install Syncios Mobile Manager. After the installation, tap Mobile Manager again to run Syncios Mobile Manager.

Step 2Connect Samsung Galaxy S9 to computer via a USB cable.

Step 3 Navigate to the Toolbox on the top menu bar and then click on the Ringtone Maker.

Step 4Now you can select a favorite song from somputer or Samsung Galaxy S9 for making new ringtones.

Select from computer: To turn a song on local folder into a customized ringtone, click this option to find the song and click "Open" to load. Play this imported song and then set its start and end point. Generally, the recommended length of a ringtone is around 30s. After that, choose the Import to device option.

Select from device: If the needed song is on your Samsung Galaxy S9, tap on this option to launch a popup. This pop-up will list all songs on your Samsung device. Click "Select" option to load. Similarly, play this imported song and then set its start and end point, then choose the Import to device option.

Part 2. Apply New Customized Ringtones on Samsung Galaxy S9 for the Entire Agenda

Step 1Find Settings on your Galaxy S9 and go to Sounds and Vibration then navigate to Ringtone.

Step 2Scroll to the bottom of the list and tap the option that says Add from phone. A new pop-up menu will ask you to choose the app you want to use to complete this action. Select Sound Pick.

Step 3Then you can find the ringtones you've customized and imported under Tracks. Tap on it and click on Done button to set this ringtones for your entire agenda. (Tips: The phone chooses by default the highlighted part of your audio file. If you want your ringtone to the play the entire song, uncheck the box on the left side of the highlights only option. )

Step 1Launch Contacts app on your phone and select the contact you would like to change ringtone for.

Step 2Select Edit and tap on the button that says More. Scroll to the bottom in extended menu and tap on Ringtone. Now navigate to Add from phone and tap it.

Step 3Select Sound Picker inside the Complete-Action-Using window, choose the special ringtone and then save the changes to take effect.
