Question type: General

how do I know I need to put fluid in my transmission of my 2016 ford fusion
when I don't have dipstick only a cap

1 Answer

Today's transaxles are checked from below via a fill and drain plug. You need to know exactly what your doing to get the right fill amount of fluid and the transaxle up to temp. Have a mechanic check it for you if you are concerned. If you don't have any leaks, your probably good.

How do you check the transmission fluid on a Ford Fusion?

1 Answer:

  • If its a 2013 and newer, there is no dipstick. Instead, its a fill hole like on differentials. It is on the left side of the transmission, behind the left front wheel. I highly advise against messing with the transmission as it is very easy to mess up the fluid level.
