Discussion Starter · #1 · Oct 25, 2015 Unfortunately, I moved to a place that requires front license plates. I have the mount that came with the '14 Traverse; 4 rivets and 2 screws. I don't have a rivet gun, and I had a bad experience with the local dealer. AM I going to screw (no pun intended) anything up if I just attach this thing to the bumper with 4 screws? if you do use screws... vibration etc.. and I can see the screws making the hole bigger and eventually it all falling off. Joined Feb 26, 2012 · 571 Posts
Just stop into a local body shop. My experience has been those places being independently owned have a tendency to really help people out with simple stuff like this. Joined Sep 25, 2014 · 13 Posts
Discussion Starter · #4 · Oct 27, 2015 I decided to just buy the rivet tool and do it myself. How do you install a front license plate bracket?Drive screws clockwise through the bracket into the bumper. Screw the license plate onto the bracket. After mounting the bracket, line the holes at the corners of the license plate with those at the bracket's corners. Drive screws clockwise through the holes to secure the license plate and complete installation.
What if my car doesn't have a front license plate holder in Texas? In sum, a Texas motorist who drives without both plates risks being pulled over for a lawful traffic stop and fined at least $200.00 for a misdemeanor traffic offense. References: Texas Transportation Code.
