Cold Process Soap Testing Notes

Tested at 5% FO load, 2/11/21 with a recipe containing 30% lye concentration (water:lye ratio 2.300:1) with 5% superfat at 90 degrees. Recipe is 33% organic and sustainable palm oil, 33% coconut oil, 16% Canola oil, 14.9% olive oil, 3% castor oil, and 0.01% vitamin E oil. 

 

Acceleration: Slight

Ricing: None

Discoloration: Brown

Trace: Normal

 

Design Notes: Many makers have reported success combating vanillin discoloration by using neon micas in their recipe. Neon micas hold up very well against discoloration and we suggest trying them in your recipe using this fragrance. Very slight acceleration noted but nothing unmanagable.
