18th, 2011 10:21 am Stanley hasn't made garage door openers since the 90's and the manual is lost and not available online. Does anyone know how to reset the outside keypad on the old school Stanley garage door openers? The inside motor unit and the remote both have code wheels which are simple to reset, but the outside keypad which is hard wired to the mains electricity does not. Nor does it have a "learn" button and LED like modern
ones. It has only the ten digits and A, B, & C buttons at the bottom. Any help on this would be appreciated. Jul 18th, 2011 10:30 am is there any type of make/model number on the outside pad. I bought one on ebay and it has very specific programming instructions. I expect you are going to need to find a manual, maybe online somewhere

It's a Stanley 6200, but my search online and eBay didn't turn up any manuals.

Did you look on the opener? I found the instructions on a sticker on the opener itself, I didn't know it was there until I climbed up it was pretty small.

Old openers should have DIP switches inside to set the code

but the outside one is digital and you have to tell it via programming what the dip switch settings are on the unit.
OP- Is the digital one from stanley? Might have a separate make/model

There are two sets of instructions here //www.hobbitdist.com/Merchant2/mer ... de=STA-INS for stanley key pads. Perhaps one of them work with your model.

I moved into a new house. My garage door also has the hard wired Stanley keypad with 1-9 and then A, B, and C buttons. Previous owner gave me the code which works but I would like to change the existing code. Did you manage to change yours?
