Is spiderman going to be on disney plus

Some of the best - and worst - superhero movies ever made are coming to Disney Plus as Spider-Man finally swings onto the House Of Mouse's subscription service.

The Spider-Man movies have remained a notable absence on Disney Plus since the service's launch. This is, of course, mostly down to the fact that Sony still owns the movie rights to the wall-crawler. Even so, given Tom Holland's Spidey is very much of the MCU, it's always felt a little odd that his solo adventures have remained unavailable to watch alongside his Avengers buddies.

The good news is that all three generations of Spider-Man are making their way to Disney Plus as of June 17, with just a few omissions.

The original Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 directed by Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire are both accounted for, but there's no mention of the divisive Spider-Man 3. I'm not sure who's losing sleep over that particular stinker not being on Disney Plus, but it feels odd not to have the entire Raimi trilogy on there.

Speaking of incomplete trilogies, both of Andrew Garfield's Amazing Spider-Man movies will be available. Rewatch The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and wonder why on Earth people are still asking for a third movie.

Finally, Tom Holland's first MCU solo movie - Spider-Man: Homecoming - will be joining the service. Far From Home and No Way Home are not coming, unfortunately, and there's currently no word on when they will arrive on Disney Plus. Given that Sony has an exclusive deal with Netflix, I'd imagine it'll be a while until the most recent Spidey flick makes its way to Disney Plus. For now, your MCU rewatches are doomed to involve multiple subscription services.

Spider-Man is the world’s most popular superhero, and that means the battle for his film rights never wears down. This is especially true now that it’s been confirmed that 5 Spider-Man films will be making their way to Disney Plus, although No Way Home and a few other Peter Parker cinematic adventures won’t be joining them anytime soon.

Despite extending its corporate grasp over to Fox and its X-Men, Deadpool, and Fantastic Four properties, Disney and Marvel Studios are unlikely to ever ascertain the same control over Spider-Man, a perpetual Sony property as long as the studio continues making a new Spidey flick every five years or so. Thus, because Sony lacks its own streaming service, Spider-Man fans have often had to scramble through several platforms in order to rewatch the films starring Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

Still, that won’t stop Disney Plus from adding some Spider-Man movies to its own collection. Starting June 17, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and Spider-Man: Homecoming will accompany the service’s vast MCU library. Noticeably missing from that list are Spider-Man 3, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and perhaps most crucially, Spider-Man: No Way Home, since the latter is expected to land on Starz over the coming months.

Some Spider-Man movies are finally swinging their way onto Disney Plus in the UK – but there are a few notable absentees, including Spider-Man: No Way Home.

As per Disney, 2002’s Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and Spider-Man: Homecoming are all joining the streaming service on June 17.

By now, your Spidey-senses are already tingling at the missing names. Spider-Man 3, Spider-Man: Far From Home and, most importantly, Spider-Man: No Way Home aren’t part of the arrivals.

No word yet on if the US (or other regions) will follow suit. The majority of Spidey movies are currently split between the Fubo and Starz streaming services Stateside, with some jumping between other notable streamers.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is set to stream on Starz in the US in the coming months but, as of right now, the MCU is still frustratingly incomplete on Disney Plus – a real headache for those who are still trying to figure out how to watch the Marvel movies in order on as few streaming services as possible.

Spider-Man: No Way Home, however, is getting a re-release in cinemas on September 2. The ‘More Fun Stuff’ cut is set to include deleted scenes not featured in the original theatrical release. That might even extend to an additional scene involving Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil in dialogue with Jon Favreau's Happy.
