Spotting after bowel movement?l
lauramilla
Hey ladies! I'm 9w2d preggo with my first baby and saw the heartbeat last week on us. Yesterday, after straining w my bowel movement (sorry for tmi) I had a very light pink spotting. No cramps and no more spotting after that. I read online that constipation and strained bm can cause pressure to the cervix and spotting. Have you experienced anything similar? I'm freaking out a bit. Very thankful for any of your thoughts on this!

I spot brown/pink sometimes too when I strain during BM. My fertility specialist said it is fine as long as there's no red flow or cramps. I'm sure you are fine xo

Are you sure the sporting came from your vagina and not your bottom? When you strain to go you could have broken some vessels in your rectum.

Thanks so much for your replies! I'm 100% sure it was vaginal spotting. I'm just a bit scared since I had a mc before this pregnancy. I haven't spotted again and I hope that was due to pressure on the cervix. Thanks so much ladies!

I'm 16 weeks tomorrow and about week 12 the same thing happened to me. It was super light pink and barely noticeable but it still freaked me out. I had my nt scan a couple days later and I saw the healthy baby blissfully unaware of my neurosis from a strained bm. I haven't had any further incidents but not so worried anymore but for a couple of weeks I was scared to push too hard.

The exact same thing happened to me at 7 weeks, except it was bright red. When I called the doctor that was the second question she asked because it's not uncommon. Saw the heartbeat the next day and everything is fine! I'm now 28 weeks, but it sure was scary. Especially because you have already seen a heartbeat I'm sure that's what it is!

This happened to me while pregnant with my dd. I saw my doctor about it and was sent to the hospital for a rogham shot (I'm negative blood type) and an ultrasound. Saw dd's heartbeat for the first time :) It happened on and off from about 6 weeks until about 15 weeks. Always just a little bit of peachy pink on the tp. DD will be 3 in July, so everything was just fine...just a sensitive cervix.

This happened to me at about 8 weeks and a few times after that. Very very light pink on tissue. The doctor did give me the rogham shot (I'm also RH-) but thought it was nothing to worry about. My doc has me taking Colace stool softener as needed. This makes it so I don't strain. You should ask your doctor if you can try it. I haven't had the problem since I have been using it.

@lauramilla,
I had MAJOR bleeding with that at 11 weeks and went to the ER- thought I was having a miscarriage. I am now 16w 3d. It was soooo scary.
