I’ve owned the cassette for many years, and just decided to go ‘full optical media’.
gotta say, while it was very nice to hear the songs without tape hiss (which became progressively worse), i was a little disappointed with the dynamic range of the CD.
Seemed almost like a “cookie cutter” release. Every song had the same dynamics...kind of like when you put your home theater or TV in “night viewing” mode - the range is compressed to keep the sound level.
In fact, i bought several Luther EPIC release discs from the 80s just recently (I’d already owned every major album early 90’s and forward on CD.)

ALL of the albums sound exactly the same...

The songs are there, and delighted i have them on optical disc; but the “cookie cutter” presentation from EPIC left me wishing for a SACD re-release where we get to hear the full range sound and maybe even a bit of studio ambience from the master track.

Oh, don’t let me forget - the disc all came with the nostalgic “liner notes”. Bare (even the Cassette releases’ liners were bare...), but all the words, studio staff, artists, recording location staff.. etc. are there!

Hard to get these days in this age of digital download.

Great sounding album. No skips!

This is Luther Vandross's fourth album from 1985, and it's still a good album. My favorite album-tracks from this album is "My Sensitivity (Gets In The Way)," and "Other Side Of The World." I would play this album along with Luther's first 3 albums, and his 5th and 6th album.

Even when I listen to this album, l would also watch Luther sing and perform a n his videos from the "The Best Of Luther Vandross" (1991 vhs), a video tape that l have and that's converted on a DVD with all of Luther's videos from 1981 to his Power Of Love era. And that (1991 vhs) has one video with Luther singing from this album, "The Night I Fell In Love," and that video is

"It's Over Now"

And l do like that video with Luther singing the song from this album.

Mr. Luther Vandross, the man with the great voice and can he sign love songs... Oh yes he can. This song brings back very pleasant memories of I will never forget that special night and I am still with that very special person. Mr. Vandross sings with such compassion and feeling that as you listen to the lyrics and you begin to imagine that day, you begin to enjoy and enjoy and take a step back in time and fall in love all over again. Enjoy the trip.
