Percy jackson fanfiction reading the books percy feels the pain

(These are just random snippets my brain thinks of! Will be a full story eventually!)

“Hey,” Malcolm cuts into her thoughts as Annabeth turns her gaze back to her half brother. She raises a brow as she moves to catch up with him in line, putting her hands in her pockets while gently tilting her head to the side, “don’t even bother with him,” Malcolm continues, glancing over in Percy’s direction then back at Annabeth, “When it comes to Percy Jackson, nothing good comes out of it, okay?”

Annabeth

Annabeth's breath caught as she now bore into the green eyes she longed to see one last time. She felt tears in her eyes again. Threatening to spill.

They were tears of joy. Relief. Love.

She smiled slightly and let out a laugh. But before she could celebrate too much, she noticed the veil. The veil she knew all too well. The cloud of pain blocking him out from the rest of the world.

"Shhh," she cooed. "Get Will," she told no one in particular in the calmest voice possible. She didn't want to scare Percy.

"It's going to be okay," she told him as she notice him inhaling deeper into the air mask. Like he was hyperventilating.

She grabbed his hand and, with much effort, he turned his head to look at her. She almost wanted to look away. Because his eyes, they were pleading again. Begging her to bring him relief.

Of course he's in pain, she thought, that dagger was coated in poison. But not just any poison. A poison known for causing excruciating pain. A poison so rare Apollo himself almost couldn't stop it from reaching his heart.

Annabeth was brought from her thoughts when Will came rushing in. He worked so quickly it was only a blur. Tinkering with machines and wrapping wounds. Chiron was helping too.

Annabeth never broke eye contact. She kept his gaze throughout it all. Calming him with no words but simply actions. Everyone else stayed out of the way.

After about ten minutes, Will and Chiron were done. Percy had new wrappings and no more water drip (but the nectar drip and air mask stayed).

Soon, Will called her outside. Percy stared at her, as if asking her to stay. She gave his hand a squeeze before releasing it. Then, she bent down and kissed his forehead before whispering, "I'll be back in a minute, don't worry."

"Is he going to be alright?" She asked as soon as they were out of earshot. He sighed, "He'll make it. But, the poison spread a lot before my father stopped it. There's still the after effects. He'll be weak. I'm guessing it will take him six months to just get walking again."

It was Annabeth's turn to sigh now. She expected this much. But Percy would not be happy. At least he's alive, she reminded herself. She gave him a slight nod, said her thanks, and went back to Percy.

He looked barely conscious. She gave him a reassuring smile, taking his hand again.

Annabeth looked around the room and took note that the rest of the seven had taken seats in a semicircle around the bed. Chiron was nowhere to be seen. She gave them a weak smile.

She heard the door creak open and she forced herself to look away from Percy. She saw Grover standing in the doorway. White as a ghost. "He's okay," she said, beckoning him to come take a look.

Grover cautiously stepped forward. When he caught sight of Percy, he sighed in relief knowing he was alive. But his face didn't gain any color.

Annabeth supposed he could feel how desperate the situation was, due to the empathy link. "He man," Grover said hoarsely. "You, uh, feeling alright?"

A moment later Grover tried for a smile but failed miserably. "I thought that much," he said. "Well, I'm glad your okay."

Three seconds passed and Grover actually smiled this time, "I see the personality's still working."

Annabeth was beginning to get annoyed. Stupid empathy links, she thought. She hated not knowing things.

"Really Perce?" Grover spoke again, "Your the one who's been in a coma and your worried about me."

Annabeth now noticed the look of confusion plastered in her friends' faces. "Grover and Percy have and empathy link. It allows them to talk to each other with their minds. And other things..."she trailed off.

A comfortable silence passed between them before Grover spoke again. "Uh, Annabeth? Percy wants to know what Will said."

Annabeth pursed her lips and looked Percy in the eye. She was hoping to postpone the news. He'd always been the one aiding others. She knew he wouldn't like people having to help him all the time. But he'd just have to deal with it.

"Well," she began slowly, "He-He said that you'd be... Weak, for a awhile."
"How long?" Grover pressed as Percy eyed her suspiciously.
"Six months," she said under her breath.
"What was that?" Grover said. Annabeth glared at him.
"Six months," she said loudly. Percy looked to be taking deep breaths.
"Six months before he can train?" Grover asked.
"N-no. More like six months before he can... Walk again," she answers nervously as she rubbed circles on Percy's hand.

The room was quiet. You could almost hear crickets. "Well," Leo said, "who wants tacos?"

That earned him a smack on the head from Annabeth, a slap from Piper, and stomp on the foot from Hazel.
"Owwwww!" He screamed, "Just trying to lighten the mood," he said with his hands behind his head, in surrender.

A/N Oh Leo! So some of this chapter was deleted. Sorry if it wasn't that good. Oh and just pretend that Grover can't feel Percy's pain.
