• Shut off the engine, open the hood, and then remove the oil fill cap.

• Slide underneath the engine and look up. Locate and remove the oil drain bolt.

• While oil is draining into the drain pan, remove the old oil filter using the filter wrench. Then install the new filter but only after the oil has completely drained.

• Reattach the oil drain bolt,  refill the engine using the fresh oil, and then replace the oil fill cap.
