When is the 2 season of demon slayer coming out

Demon Slayer

Funimation

The mystery of when Demon Slayer season 2’s release date has been solved at last, and as promised, it will indeed be making it out in 2021. But not without a little detour first.

Before we head to the Entertainment District for Demon Slayer season 2, Funimation has announced that it’s turning the smash-hit Mugen Train feature film into a 7 episode series that will start airing on October 10.

This is not just the movie chopped up into bits, but will also include “70 new scenes, new music tracks, new open and ending animation, episode previews and new theme songs." 70 new scenes certainly sounds like a lot, and it makes sense, give than Mugen Train is just under two hours long, which would be six, 20 minute episodes, but this run will be 7 episodes. So that’s seemingly a significant amount of new footage.

Then, all of this leads into the Entertainment District arc for season 2 itself, which will begin on Sunday, December 5, and will feature an hour-long premiere. Demon Slayer first debuted in 2019, so fans have been waiting a very, very long time for this. In the interim, the Mugen Train movie broke all Japanese box office records and performed extremely well in the west at the same time.

Another side note is the fact that a new Demon Slayer fighting game is being released on October 15, which is made by CyberConnect2, and has animation extremely faithful to the original series. That’s coming out on all consoles, including PS5 and Xbox Series X, and PC, and is a full $60 title.

Demon Slayer is a unique success in anime, breaking boundaries into film and into the west like few other titles before it. There is plenty of manga left to adapt, so I would expect to see it around for a good long while. And with fewer delays due to COVID, we will probably see future seasons take less time to arrive than the eternal wait we’ve had for season 2 here. Technically, Funimation is counting the 7 episode Mugen Train arc as part of season 2 going forward here, but the never-before seen stuff will begin in December once that has wrapped.

Plenty to look forward to, and stay tuned for more info including new trailers, no doubt, as we get closer.

With the conclusion of the second season of Demon Slayer, we can now speculate on when further episodes of the anime may be released on Netflix. More episodes of the anime may not air until winter 2023, which means fans will have to wait a long time. Read on to know if the second season of this hit anime will be on Netflix soon.

DEMON SLAYER: A PREVIEW

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is a Japanese anime series based on author Koyoharu Gotge’s manga of the same name. The popularity of the anime skyrocketed after it’s premiere. In just over five years after the manga’s release in February 2016, the series has amassed over $8.75 billion in sales revenue, making it one of the most profitable media franchises ever.

It’s impossible to overstate how popular the series has grown. It’s popularity has soared because of some absolutely stunning animation by the creative artists at Ufotable. Demon Slayer: Mugen Train shattered Studio Ghibli’s box office record in Japan, becoming the highest-grossing film in the country’s history.

Demon Slayer Release Date on Netflix

When the anime was initially aired, it caught the globe by storm, and fans awaited season 2 with bated breath. They’ll be pleased now that Season 2 is out. Season 2 of the anime launched on Netflix on October 10th. Fans who have seen the Mugen Train film can skip the first seven episodes of the new season, which has a seven-episode arc with the same name. This will allow fans who missed the Mugen Train film to board the train.

Demon Slayer Season Two Plot

The second season continues where the film Demon Slayer: Mugen Train left off, adapting the manga in its episodes. It adapts the fan-favourite Entertainment District Arc from the manga, which sends Tanjiro to Japan’s red-light district to track down a demon who has been spreading havoc.

Before anybody else goes missing, Tanjiro and a new buddy with a personal link to the mystery must discover what’s going on. Hashira’s backstory is also explored in greater depth in this season.
