Why wont my fog lights turn off

Not turn off? I know right. 04 so it's a pull out switch on the blinker assembly. Turn it forward back for headlights pop the cap out for fogs. When I turn it all off the fogs stay on unless I wiggle the whole stick until it finds a place to lose connection. Thoughts remedies?

Looks like the jeep is trash... Should just throw her away... lol My jeep doesn't have fog lights on it but the light on the dash stays on, as if the fog lights are on. I was wondering if this is your problem.

known as multifunction switch ...mine on my '04 went about 2years ago.....pulled fuse under the hood and rewired fogs to toggle switch in the dash.

Have heard it is "easy" to change factory switch but at the time I couldn't find one except from "stealer" and that was pricey!!

Mines bad too. I have the fuse pulled and I did buy and OEM style Toggle switch but I am reconsidering that and leaning back to replacing the Multifunction stalk. For now... I am Foglightless...

cut the wires to save the battery then figure it out.

i fixed mine in my 01 its the same switch style if you have the time and dont get mad having to put it back and take it a part over and over till you fix it, you and fix it. if you dont want to you can replace it i have seen it a rockauto.com. its 2 screws under the column they are Phillips. with the column pastic off it is two screws on top of the switch system and two plugs on on each side. it take both the light leaver and whipper leaver off in one unit. plug in new one and done. or take apart requires a little T8 torx take the relay out take the three little screws out and take the first layer of plastic off there will be a copper bar thats the switch to fix it either build up jb weld on the plastic bar that pushes it off the contacts or build up some solder on the copper bar. what has happened is the plastic bar had melted and the contacts are on all the time now the bar is to short. i did the solder i have heard others have done the jb weld. i did the solder because i had to drive the jeep that day and could not wait for jb wled to set. if your not extremely capable with tools i would just replace. for now you can pull the relay out under the hood to sjut the lights off so no dead battery when you go to start the jeep. if you up in MA and wanted i would do it for you to bad your so far away would love to help more. good luck

Fog lights not turning off is a common problem. Some people remove the switch and clean it up (contacts, etc.), some install a new multifunction switch (I did), some rig up a new switch to control the fog lights.

Temporary fix: When you shut your motor off, put your left turn signal on and leave it that way. Worked for me, the fog lights went off.

Great write up. I'll get a look at it soon. I have an extensive tool set. The connections are probably just dirty from all the weather in Lubbock. Thanks for the help guys.
