Messages12Reaction score2 Points3 Hey all. Wanted to hear some opinions and thoughts on people who have the rear entertainment system or know much about it. Any differences between the 2021 and 2022? Been looking for a specific telluride for weeks and was about ready to build one and found a telluride with my exact needs but it has the RES. I do have 2 kids under 3,
but after reading about it on this forum, I'm not sure how much I want it . I feel they become obsolete, and just a mess. Does anyone know if this can be removed without seeing wires, no issues with the appearance of the back seat, etc? The research I've done it seems as that they are attached via bar in the back seat, is this correct? Thoughts on removing completely? Obviously if I don't take the vehicle we will be looking at at least 3 months to build.

Messages12Reaction score2 Points3 Correct. I would be getting the car at MSRP and a lot dealers around here are upcharging 5-7K above MSRP. I was just wondering if it was possible to remove without leaving "a trail" there was an entertainment system.
Messages96Reaction score64 Points18 All I gotta say about this is Go Bucks! That's all, and good luck. I got my Telluride from Celebration Kia in Lewis Center Ohio at Msrp. Not sure if they are still doing that though

Messages12Reaction score2 Points3 This Buckeye team sure is frustrating so far huh? Anyways, the dealer with this vehicle is Ricart right in your neck of the woods (I'm north of Cincy in West Chester). I figured they would be removable as I saw some other posts with with the
carnival, etc. Is there any difference other than the two screens? Would anything be visible afterwards? unfortunately not much info on the internet about the RES. I will talk with the dealer but have a feeling they won't go below MSRP as these are selling like hotcakes. Will try
though
Messages2,487Reaction score1,833 Points113 Thoughts on removing completely? Just saw on the kia build site they have updated it for the 2021 https://www.kia.com/us/en/telluride/build?model=J4482&exterior=Ebony+Black&interior=Black+Leather+Seat+Trim&packages=TWJ&trim=SX The option that caught my eye was the rear entertainment system for $1500. This is the first time I...

Messages12Reaction score2 Points3 Looks like you can remove the screen and tuck the cable into the seat. But the mounting bracket looks permanent. tellurideforum.org I'm sure I could figure out how to remove the brackets and remove the back of the seat, but I'm not sure if I want to begin to mess with that. Right now I'm leaning toward buying the vehicle and removing if I need to. It's either that or waiting 3+ months for a build. ______________________________

Messages1,391Reaction score871 Points113Location 4 1 2 Thanks for posting this. I guess it doesn't look terrible without the
brackets if I were to remove the monitors and at least it sounds like you can hide the wires if removing them. Whats wrong with just leaving it in and using it? Your kids can probably get something out of if. Is it being in such an obstruction? I have never seen one with this feature.
Messages12Reaction score2 Points3 I decided to get this vehicle. Should be in in a couple weeks. Going to drive it for awhile and see how the kids do. The dealer did say it would be $600 to remove if we ever decided that. Personally I may be able to figure it out myself, but it is what is is. We may decide we like it after having it, if not we do have the option to
remove. ______________________________
Messages1,391Reaction score871 Points113Location 4 1 2 You pay for something you don't want and then need to pay again to remove it. That is a kick in the *ss! I think you made the right move to just buy it and figure out what
you want to do. Best of luck.

Messages12Reaction score2 Points3 I got the vehicle a little over a month ago. Love the vehicle. Haven’t even played around with the RES yet but having kids with two car seats in the captains chairs they are in the way a lot. Will probably remove eventually. The most annoying thing is that the screens come on every time you start the car and stay on for 10+
minutes. Cannot find a way to disable this so they won’t turn on every time the vehicle is started. Has anyone found a way to do this?
Messages2Reaction score3Points1 The RES from my perspective so far seems completely useless. It either takes a device to use the device or internet to be able to watch any kind of movie. DVDs can be
purchased apparently with a code to download I would guess to a computer then put on a USB otherwise I can't seem to find a place that it's useful to download movies onto a USB. The RES is not recognized as a device to be able to download apps like Netflix or others and when Netflix movies are downloaded onto my phone say and I smartview mirror them to the RES is shows a black screen with audio and subtitles but no picture. What I am finding is that's a copyright thing with Netflix so yet
another dead end. My new 2022 Telluride has spent more time idling seriously than driving trying to problem solve how the RES is at all useful! If I had a device to plug in I would not be interested in the RES in the first place! Maybe someone else is having a positive experience with them and I am missing something but so far I am highly disappointed in the RES and its so in your face, turning on each time the vehicle turns on, that it is definitely a downer. ______________________________
Messages2Reaction score3Points1 The only way I have concluded to problem solve the RES turning on and being in the kids faces EVERY TIME they get in the car is to make or buy some kind of cover for
them.
Messages2Reaction score0Points1 We would like to remove ours so if anyone has found a way to do so I would greatly appreciate you sharing the info. Thanks
