Las vegas hotels without resort fees and free parking

Las Vegas is a great place to visit with a plethora of fun things to do, but one major thing that can be a downer (and a money-drainer) are the resort fees that almost all the hotels near the Las Vegas Strip charge. And you know what? These resort fees are not cheap.

Most Las Vegas resorts charge around $30 per night in addition to the room rate. That means if you’re staying for 4 nights, you’re going to have to tack on an additional $120 to your hotel costs! Ouch.

If you’re looking to enjoy all that Las Vegas has to offer without having to worry about those pesky overpriced resort fees, then look no further! Here are 7 great hotels in Sin City that don’t charge guests a dime for resort fees.

What Are Las Vegas Hotel Resort Fees?

So, first off, let’s start with understanding what resort fees are. What do these resort fees even cover?

Generally, resort fees cover things like fitness center access, pool access, internet access, newspaper delivery, and shuttle service. If you use these services, then great, paying those resort fees could be justified.

But let’s say you’re like me and you don’t use these amenities at all. You’re literally there just to sleep in your hotel room after a long day of exploring. In our case, resort fees may just seem a bit excessive.

Well, I’m here to tell you that not all Las Vegas hotels charge resort fees!

So without further ado, here are some pretty sweet hotels in Las Vegas that don’t charge a resort fee.

BONUS TIP: The Signature at MGM Grand

The Signature At MGM | Booking.com

Here’s a sweet tip shared by one of our readers–booking a suite at The Signature by MGM Grand, not through MGM, but through VRBO.

Here’s the difference between booking with MGM Grand vs booking on VRBO. If you book with MGM Grand, you’re going to get hit with the resort fee.

If you book on VRBO (or Airbnb), you can find a ton of rooms with no resort fees tacked on.

It’s like staying at the MGM Hotel without the ridiculously steep and unnecessary fees. On VRBO, it’s common to find listings with no resort fees or parking fees, thereby saving you anywhere from $45 to $70 per day compared to booking with MGM! What a deal!

There are, however, third-party service fees you’ll need to watch out for (cleaning fee, VRBO platform fee, etc.) so be sure you’re aware of these details before booking.

You can compare prices between MGM + resort fees vs. VRBO/Airbnb + third party fees to see which one nets out to be the cheaper option.

Distance from The Strip: 0 miles. You’re right on the Strip!
Free parking: Yes
Shuttle service: Guests can take the Monorail from MGM Grand Station.
Pool: Yes
Fitness room: Yes

If you’re new to Old Las Vegas and want to be in the middle of all the Fremont Street action, Four Queens is a great Downtown Las Vegas hotel without resort fees.

On-site dining options include Magnolia’s Veranda, a 24-hour eatery with an assortment of American dishes. Chicago Brewing Company and Cigar Lounge, also on-site, offers a selection of beer, snacks and entrees. Hugo’s Cellar is another available dining option.

Is there a way to not pay resort fees in Las Vegas?

Ultimately, the answer for most guests to the question “Do you have to pay resort fees in Vegas?” is yes. The only real way to avoid them is to book at one of the few properties that don't charge them, or be a big spender in the casino and either earn waived fees through tier status or by talking to your casino host.

Can you ask to waive resort fees in Las Vegas?

Refuse to Pay the Fees When You Check Out We're beginning to stretch it a bit here, but you can always ask the front desk to waive them for you or simply tell them that you refuse to pay. It's a risky strategy, particularly since they have your credit card already, but it certainly doesn't cost you anything.

Why do Vegas hotels charge resort fees?

Resort fees are usually charged to cover amenities like wifi and gym access, but they're not optional and you have no choice but to pay them even if you choose not to use the amenities they cover.
