There are great artisans on park as well such as glass blowers and weavers that are so fun to watch and learn from Silver Dollar City has many festivals throughout the year such as World Fest and the famous Old Time Christmas – ranked one of the top 5 things to do in the United States for the holidays! The reason Branson is a tourist attraction is the Marvel Cave that Silver Dollar City is built on–the tour is included in your ticket price so make sure to see a cave that is so big it has had hot air balloons launched inside of it! Silver Dollar City is open from mid March thru December and there are reasons to visit several times per year – the World Fest with entertainers from all over the world is our favorite in the spring, the water rides and roller coasters in the summer and the beauty of celebrating the reason for the season at Christmas time. The best way to experience Silver Dollar City is to stay in one of our Silver Dollar City cabins. Each of our Silver Dollar City cabins are minutes away from the park entrance and close enough to run back for lunch or a quick afternoon nap before going back to enjoy the evening festivities at Silver Dollar City. We took the advice of travellers' reviews on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. We stayed here two nights and were blown away by this place. VERY neat, clean, well-appointed. Really looks and feels like a lodge. All staff from the desk to the cleaning staff and the food service people were exceptionally nice, professional and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. The rooms are very nice. Large bathroom- super clean. Room fridge, large TV screen plenty of light. The breakfast buffet is huge! Eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, potatoes, oatmeal, yogurt and fruit bar, cold cereal, bagels, toast, waffles, and juice/coffee. We were there during the time a convention was there and the line moved quickly and the buffet was kept well-stocked and clean. Large seating area, so no one had to stand around waiting for a table. Lovely indoor pool, laundry. Again, all staff greeted you and wished you a good day. The price is comparable with a good hotel in Branson and was WELL WORTH the price. When we needed some more toiletries, the desk clerk, Audrey?, brought them up herself and quickly. We cannot say enough good things about this place. Bring your money as there are no bargains to be found here. Something for everyone, but the price of admission is not cheap. Go early for decent parking and beat the long lines for the more popular attractions. Take the trams to the gate - visit the cave - yes, there is one right as you enter the park. Purchased tickets in hopes to have a great family time. The masks made it very hard to breath safely climbing up the hills. The rides kept getting shut down and then when we were finally able to ride a few they were shut down again due to severe weather that never even reached the area. It was a waisted trip and definitely wouldn't recommend wasting money this year in that park. You will spend more time walking and waiting to ride anything to be told it's shut down before getting to do it. Silver Dollar City Christmas light show is fantastic for all ages! The shows are first class but be prepared to get in line an hour in advance. The new 80 ft. Christmas tree is a show in itself with computer graphics timed to the Christmas music. Happy Holidays! Pace yourself on these hills, your legs will thank you later. Make your dollars count - buy mementos that mean something to you, not every cheap touristy thing you see. Check ahead of time for the theme on the day you plan to visit - We didn't, and all the shows were gospel music, which wasn't really our favorite. Put your cell phone in a ziplock bag! Check the weather! Best to visit when temperatures are in the 70-85 degree range. There is a lot of walking with some pretty steep inclines. Marvel Cave is simply unbelievable, but there are several medical conditions that are advised not to tour. Check this out in advance so you aren’t disappointed. Time Traveler, Powder Keg, and Wildfire are all impressive smooth roller coasters! I love that you are allowed to take your own food, beverages, and small coolers into the park. Concessions are expensive as expected, and not conducive to specific dietary needs.
