I recently purchased a vintage Rockaway fireproof box on ebay where the previous owner stated it came with a key but the lock was jammed and would not lock. These boxes are hard to find in good condition, so I bought it with the intention of outright replacing the tubular cam lock.

However, instead of the cam lock being threaded and easily removable, it is non-threaded and held in place with crimped discs.

Any advice on how to remove the existing lock without damaging the box so I can install a new lock and use the box as intended? Also, if this is best left to a trained locksmith, any ideas on the cost to remove and replace the lock?
