How to Make a BBQ Beer Roast in a Crock Pot

Aunt Lou here.

We had some roasts that I needed to make up before they had been in the freezer too long. Hmmm…what to do, what to do? Then I remembered the Crock Pot BBQ Beer Chicken recipe I did a while back. I couldn’t help but wonder how that yummy flavor would taste with a roast. Well, lucky for you (and me!), this Crock Pot roast turned out wonderfully tender and delicious! And I love how easy it is to throw together! The perfect recipe to throw on before you go to work!

  • We use a 6-quart crock pot for this recipe.
  • If you don’t have beer, you can use cola instead.
  • While you could cook this on high, I wouldn’t recommend it. One of the great things about beef and a slow cooker is that you can take a tough cut of meat, cook it low and slow and have a wonderfully tender piece of meat. If you cook it on high, you might not get as desirable of a result.

Is sirloin tip roast good for pot roast?

Slow-cooked cast iron sirloin tip roast is juicy, fork-tender, and so flavorful. It cooks with tender carrots and onions in a tasty beef gravy made with red wine. Every bite is a dream come true! This is a one-pot dinner recipe perfect for feeding the family or a hungry crowd.

Can you put beer in the crockpot?

Throw some beer in the Crock-Pot with a whole chicken and some spices on top and you've got a meal fit for a king.

What beer goes best with pot roast?

When paired with a robust pot roast, I'm leaning amber ale. Rich and malted with a light hint of fruit, an amber ale provides a sweet finish to go with the luxury of a good pot roast. Better yet, add some ale to the pot roast stock.

What is sirloin tip roast good for?

The sirloin tip roast (also known as round tip roast) is cut from the hindquarters, adjacent to the sirloin. The sirloin tip roast is flavorful, but like most lean cuts, it can be tough and should be braised or stewed. The sirloin tip roast can also be used for kebabs or slowly oven-roasted at a low temperature.
