What is the best adhesive for Corian?A flexible bonding method such as silicone adhesive is preferred. Corian® solid surface can be adhered to wood or plywood. Silicone adhesive is preferred as it allows for differential movement with changes in temperature and humidity.
How do you Joint Corian?Apply a liberal amount of DuPont™ Joint Adhesive, DuPont™ Joint Adhesive 2.0, or Corian® Joint Adhesive to both surfaces and apply the strip evenly placed over the seam. Make sure there are no voids or dry areas (i.e., the adhesive must be spread evenly over the entire strip).
Can you glue Corian with epoxy?Epoxy forms a very strong bond to Corian® and is a great adhesive to bond two pieces of Corian together. However, when it comes to installing a Corian fixture, counter, or sink, it is recommended to use a silicone material in case the Corian® fixture ever needs to be removed, or reset.
What kind of epoxy do you use on Corian countertops? You should feel comfortable using WEST SYSTEM Epoxy to glue Corian or Wilsonart solid surface materials to your substrate if the surfaces are sanded dull with 80-grit sandpaper prior to applying the epoxy.
