As educators, we see first-hand the impact poor air quality has on our students and their families.  However, Prop 30’s solution undermines funding for public education, health care, seniors, and other essential services while forcing taxpayers to pick up the tab for large corporations.

By bypassing the state’s general fund and the voter-approved Prop 98 education funding guarantees, Prop 30 sets a dangerous precedent for big corporations to set up their own taxpayer-funded handout. Simply put, Prop 30 is a special interest carve out by a ridesharing company to get California taxpayers to foot the bill to help Lyft pay for transitioning to the use of electric vehicles. Prop 30 sets a dangerous precedent and puts the profits of Lyft ahead of the welfare of all Californians.

Vote no on funneling state income tax revenue away from schools and other essential services infrastructure to a single corporation. Vote no on Prop 30.

HP’s ink delivery service includes cartridges, shipping, and recycling. With low-cost monthly plans, you can save up to 50% on Original HP Ink. Your HP printer knows when ink is low and will order more so you can avoid the trip to the store. You get the ink when you need it, not monthly.

HP touts its Deskjet 3755 All-in-One Printer ($69.99) as the world's smallest home all-in-one (AIO) printer. It certainly is small, and uniquely styled. Unlike the business-oriented HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile All-in-One Printer, our Editors' Choice portable AIO, the 3755 is geared toward consumers, particularly millennials, looking to print out photos from mobile devices. The 3755's slow speed and sparse feature set limit it to light-duty use, but it should do well in its intended role.

Rainbow of Printers

The 3755 measures 5.6 by 15.9 by 7 inches (HWD) when closed, 10.4 by 15.9 by 17.8 inches with trays extended, and weighs a lightweight 5.1 pounds. This compares favorably with the Epson Expression Home XP-430 Small-in-One ($349.99 at Amazon)(Opens in a new window) , which measures 5.4 by 15.4 by 11.8 inches—more than 4 inches deeper than the 3755.

The 3755 is available in seven colors, each a two-tone mix combined with white. Our test unit is Electric Blue; other colors available in North America include Sea Grass, Dragonfly Blue, Sporty Purple, Cardinal Red, Stone, and Poppy Pink.

An Atypical All-in-One

One unusual feature is what HP calls the scan beam, which is a bowed piece of plastic that horizontally spans the printer's top. You scan a page by slipping it under the beam; it is fed through and emerges on the other side. The 3755 lacks a flatbed and an automatic document feeder; pages must be fed one sheet at a time. The right-hand end of the beam houses the control panel, with a tiny monochrome screen and its control buttons, for launching color or monochrome scanning, enabling/disabling Wi-Fi or Wireless Direct, canceling or resuming a print job, or enabling HP's Web Services.

See How We Test Printers

As the 3755 is designed primarily for photo printing, and photos are one of HP's fortes, it is not surprising that it has above-average photo quality, despite the fact that it has only two ink tanks—one for black, and one for cyan, magenta, and yellow—while most printers have separate tanks for each color. Most of our test prints were at least as good as what we would expect from drugstore prints, and a couple of prints were better. There was some loss of detail in bright areas in one print, and our monochrome image had a slight tint.

Running Costs

If you were to buy HP's highest-capacity cartridges individually, running costs would come to a relatively high 8.7 cents per monochrome page and 19 cents per color page. According to HP, by enrolling in one of HP's Instant Ink subscription programs, you can save up to 50 percent on ink costs. There are three levels: Occasional Printing (up to 50 pages per month, for $2.99 a month), Moderate Printing (up to 100 pages per month, at $4.99 per month), and Frequent Printing (up to 300 pages per month, at $9.99 per month). You pay no more for a color page with instant ink than you would for a black page; you pay extra if you print additional pages, and are not reimbursed if you don't print your monthly allotment.

Small and Affordable, but Not Fast

The HP Deskjet 3755 All-in-One Printer is an atypical AIO printer. Its small size, bargain price, and handsome design put it in a class of its own. Set against these strengths are its ponderous printing speed and its lack of common all-in-one features, including an ADF (or a flatbed for that matter), auto duplexer, touch screen, SD-card reader, port for a USB thumb drive, fax capability, touch screen, and photo tray. These omissions, along with an input tray that fits just 60 sheets, peg the 3755 for light-duty use. Clearly it's not for everybody. But if you are looking for a small, snazzy, and inexpensive printer primarily for use in printing out photos from mobile devices, it could be an ideal choice.

Since 2004, I have worked on PCMag’s hardware team, covering at various times printers, scanners, projectors, storage, and monitors. I currently focus my testing efforts on 3D printers, pro and productivity displays, and drives and SSDs of all sorts.

Over the years, I have reviewed iPad and iPhone science apps, plus the occasional camera, laptop, keyboard, and mouse. I've also written a host of articles about astronomy, space science, travel photography, and astrophotography for PCMag and its past and present sibling publications (among them, Mashable and ExtremeTech), as well as for the PCMag Digital Edition.

How do I connect my HP DeskJet printer to my laptop?

Your printer should have been packaged with a USB cable regardless of whether it is a wireless or wired printer. Plug the cable into your printer and your computer's USB port. The direct linking should trigger your computer to recognize the printer and start up the software needed to complete the installation.

How do I put my HP DeskJet 3755 into pairing mode?

1) Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer for more than three seconds to start WPS push mode. The Wireless light starts blinking. 2) Press the WPS button on your router. NOTE: THE MOMENT YOU PRESS THE WIRELESS BUTTON ON YOUR PRINTER, WITHIN 30 SECONDS YOU SHOULD PRESS THE WPS BUTTON ON THE ROUTER.

Why is my HP printer not connecting to my laptop?

Check the printer connection status: Make sure the wireless signal is on, and the printer is connected to the same network as your computer or mobile device. If your printer has a light next to a Wireless icon or button , make sure the light is on. If it is off or blinks, the printer is disconnected from the network.
